Getting Ready for the Solar Eclipse
Time: 2:30pm - 3:30pm
Location: Combined Meeting Room (Event)
Discover the wonder of the total solar eclipse that will be visible along a narrow track stretching across the United States next Monday, August 21, as well as safe ways to view the partial eclipse that will be visible in Ohio.
After visiting different learning stations, you'll earn your own pair of eclipse glasses for safe viewing (one pair per attendee, while supplies last.)
On the big day, all are welcome to attend the library's Solar Eclipse Viewing.
How to Earn a Pair of Free Glasses
Solar eclipse glasses were provided to the library by the Space Science Institute as part of a Moore Foundation grant intended for use at library-sponsored events. Free glasses will be available to those who attend this event on August 14 or the Solar Eclipse Viewing on August 21, while supplies last.
For a list of reputable vendors of solar filters & viewers, visit this list from the American Astronomical Society.
