Want to get your students interested in reading? Why not invite a librarian to visit your school for a book talk?
What exactly is a book talk, you ask? Well, a book talk is much like a movie trailer. Our main goal is to encourage kids to read more! We do this by telling them a bit about the book, often bringing props or reading juicy excerpts. We typically book talk between 5 to 7 books during each visit, appealing to a variety of audiences. Our visits are free, usually lasting around 30 to 45 minutes per class.
Note: A staff member will contact you within 3 days of your request to schedule your visit. Though the library will make every effort to fulfill all book talk requests, we may not be able to accommodate those made within 2 weeks of the desired visit date. If you need immediate assistance, please contact Youth Services.
