Are you a senior citizen living within the Westerville City School District? Are you unable to get to the library due to a disability or illness?
Outreach Services offers free delivery of library materials to persons who are physically unable to visit the library, including the elderly, the disabled, and those who are temporarily incapacitated by illness or accident.
Outreach also offers free delivery to full-time caregivers and any resident of a nursing home, assisted living facility, or senior apartment within the Westerville City School District, regardless of health or mobility. Check out the Delivery Schedule for Senior Housing or contact the Activities’ Director at your facility for more information.
So what are you waiting for? Simply contact Outreach Services to sign up for the program. You may request specific library materials or have an Outreach staff member select them according to your interests. As soon as you have signed up, we will arrange for a time to visit you at home once per month. All library materials are available for delivery except for Art Prints.
Interested in the latest Outreach news? Check out The Outreach, a bi-monthly newsletter distributed to all Outreach patrons.
Customers age 60 and older are not charged overdue fines. (Note: All customers are responsible for paying the replacement cost of lost items.)
Applications for the Golden Buckeye Card are available at the Westerville Library. If you utilize Outreach Services, we can bring an application to your home. Or you can stop at the Circulation Desk in the main lobby with your driver's license, proof of age or proof of disability (as defined by Social Security) and we will process your application for you.
Having a hard time getting around? The library provides a motorized wheelchair to persons with physical disabilities for use within the library. Stop at the Circulation Desk in the main lobby for more information. Or you can reserve materials online and pick them up through pickup through the drive-up window on the north side of the building!
