How do I sign up for text message notices?

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click on "Edit account".
  3. In the email address field, enter "yourphonenumber@sms.oplin.org". For example: 6148827277@sms.oplin.org.*
  4. Click "Submit".

*For multiple email addresses or phone numbers for texting, enter each one separated by a comma with no spaces, such as: 6148827277@sms.oplin.org,myemailaddress@gmail.com

What notices will I get?

  • Reminders to return items, 2 days before due date
  • Reminders for overdue items, 10, 20 and 30 days after due date
  • Alerts for reserved items ready for pickup (i.e. holds)
  • An alert when your library card is about to expire

Note: These notices are sent as a courtesy through an automated system. If you're not receiving your notices, view these troubleshooting options.

Limits

  • Standard text messaging rates apply.
  • There is a cap of 100 text messages per month per phone number.
  • All notices received via text message will appear to be from the phone number 760-00.
  • If you only enter your text message address, you will not receive library communications such as our monthly newsletter or other direct messages. To ensure that you receive all communications from the library, provide a second address, such as the address for your primary email account.
