Exhibit celebrates the 100th anniversary of water treatment in Westerville

Museum partners with Westerville Division of Water to share history of water.

December 30, 2024 marks 100 years since the building of Westerville’s Alum Creek water treatment plant. Before 1924, Westerville residents relied on well water, but the city’s growing population needed access to a much greater quantity of safe, potable water that was free of viruses and bacteria.

Thanks to a partnership with the Westerville Division of Water and the Westerville History Museum, a mini exhibit is now open to celebrate this anniversary and also highlights the history of water towers in Westerville.

Located in the display case across from the pickup window. On display now through September 27, then again starting November 6.
