  • The library sends email notifications about requested and borrowed items. (These notices are sent as a courtesy through an automated system.)

    To opt in:

    1. Log into your account.
    2. Select My Settings.
    3. Under Email Address, make sure your current email address is listed.
    4. Under Contact Preference, select Email.
    5. Select Save Changes.

  • You can receive text message (SMS) notices about requested and borrowed items. Standard text messaging rates apply.

    To opt-in, contact us 

  • You can receive notices about your library card account via email, phone, or text message (SMS). To request notices be sent to multiple addresses or phone numbers, contact us.

    • Reminders to return items, 2 days before due date
    • Reminders for overdue items, 2, 10, 20 and 30 days after due date
    • Alerts for reserved items ready for pickup (i.e. holds), including a reminder for items not picked up after 2 days
    • An alert when your library card is about to expire
    • Library newsletters*

    *These cannot be sent via text message.

  • The library offers notices or alerts as a courtesy to help you stay informed about your library-related activity. If you are not getting notifications as you have come to expect, there are a few things you can do.

    • Make sure we have your current email address on file.
    • Check your spam folder.
    • Add the library's domain name to your approved sender's list: westervillelibrary.org
    • Add the library's email addresses to your email's approved sender's list or whitelist:
      • ask@westervillelibrary.org
      • answers@westervillelibrary.org
      • customerservices@westervillelibrary.org
      • circ-notices@westervillelibrary.org
      • do-not-reply@bibliocommons.com
      • online@westervillelibrary.org
      • scanner@westervillelibrary.org
    • Remove the library from your email's blocked addresses list.
    • Try a different email address that you check often.
    • Contact the library for help.
